Costume College 2025 Guest Teacher:
Kenneth D. King

We are incredibly excited to announce Kenneth D. King as our guest teacher at Costume College this summer! Some of you already know him from Threads Magazine, where he has been a featured contributing editor since the 1980s, or from his books on Couture Sewing (see list below). He is a sewing and couture expert and an adjunct instructor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in Manhattan. He teaches fitting and couture sewing techniques at his studio in New York City and around the United States. Kenneth produces unique, made-to-measure pieces for women and men and limited-edition pieces for boutiques. He has designed pieces for celebrities like Elton John, and his work is in the permanent collections of several museums, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and San Francisco’s DeYoung Museum, as well as in many private collections. He won the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals' 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award.

At Costume College, Kenneth will be teaching both workshops and lecture courses. During the Friday night “Adventurer’s Club” Social, we will host a book signing. Bring in your pre-purchased copy of one of his books or buy one on the spot. The list of books available to purchase will be updated closer to the event, but may include:
