Exhibits

Costume College is celebrating Stage and Screen this year. The Costume Exhibit, “Character in Costume”, is inspired by the characters from Stage and Screen them who resonate enough to inspire us to dress like them. Costumes say so much about the character wearing them, even before they speak their first line.

Photo by Art Andrews. We’re looking for costumes made by attendees to showcase in our Costume Exhibit this year that are keeping with this year theme (preferred but not required). We welcome creations from all skill levels, whether you are copying an existing design for cosplay or emulating a different time or plane of existence.

We have a limited number of dress forms available to display your works; (if you would like to bring your own, please correspond with the Exhibit Department). We would also like to feature any accessories or props that compliment the characters you have created. Please specify if you need extra exhibit space for these items.

To submit your costume for display in the Exhibit, please complete the 2024 Costume College Exhibit Submission form which opens Wednesday, May 1, 2024 and closes Friday, June 28, 2024. We require the following information:

  • A title for your piece (a character name/source, a very short description, or a name you have bestowed on it).
  • A clear and complete photo of the costume, accessories and/or prop to be displayed.
  • A short paragraph describing your work and how it relates to Character, Stage, or Screen (this text will be displayed).
  • An itemized inventory of all items you will be bringing (including undergarments, your own dress form, jewelry, shoes) for this submission.

You may submit more than one costume; please complete one application per entry. If you have any questions, please contact Karina Montgomery, Costume Exhibits Committee, at [email protected].
