Costumers have always loved a comeback.

Long before “vintage” was trendy, makers were reviving the styles of centuries past, transforming beloved garments into a brand new style, and finding creative ways to make every precious yard of fabric count. Faded textiles found new life with embroidery, decorative mending, patchwork, appliqué, painting, or dye. Yesterday’s fashion became tomorrow’s inspiration. 

This is your chance to channel the Georgian obsession with Ancient Greece, the Victorian Gothic Revival, cleverly remake a historical garment into a new style, reinterpret a historic style with modern materials, or craft a patchwork masterpiece- or whatever else sparks your imagination!

A few housekeeping reminders: We will be in a public area with other hotel guests. When planning your outfit, please be mindful and keep it at least PG13. Please avoid symbols of hate, including but not limited to Nazi and Confederate symbology.

This non-ticketed Costume College event is open to all registered attendees including students, teachers, volunteers, and vendors.
